Pairing and continuum effects in nuclei close to the drip line

چکیده
The Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov (HFB) equations in coordinate representation are solved exactly, i.e., with correct asymptotic boundary conditions for the continuous spectrum. The calculations are performed with effective Skyrme interactions. The exact HFB solutions are compared with HFB calculations based on box boundary conditions and with resonant continuum Hartree-Fock-BCS (HF-BCS) results. The comparison is done for the neutronrich Ni isotopes. It is shown that close to the drip line the amount of pairing correlations depends on how the continuum coupling is treated. On the other hand, the resonant continuum HF-BCS results are generally close to those of HFB even in neutron-rich nuclei.

متن کاملPairing and continuum effects on low-frequency quadrupole vibrations in deformed Mg isotopes close to the neutron drip line
Low-frequency quadrupole vibrational modes in deformed 36,38,40Mg close to the neutron drip line are studied by means of the quasiparticle-random-phase approximation based on the coordinate-space Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov formalism. Strongly collective Kπ = 0+ and 2+ excitation modes carrying 10 − 20 Weisskopf units in the intrinsic isoscalar quadrupole transition strengths are obtained at about ...
متن کاملContinuum effects for the mean-field and pairing properties of weakly bound nuclei
Continuum effects in the weakly bound nuclei close to the drip-line are investigated using the analytically soluble Pöschl-Teller-Ginocchio potential. Pairing correlations are studied within the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov method. We show that both resonant and non-resonant continuum phase space is active in creating the pairing field. The influence of positive-energy phase space is quantified in t...
متن کاملDescription of Drip-line Nuclei within Relativistic Mean Field plus Bcs Approach
Received (received date) Revised (revised date) RMF + BCS description of drip-line nuclei Recently it has been demonstrated, considering Ni and Ca isotopes as prototypes, that the relativistic mean-field plus BCS (RMF+BCS) approach wherein the single particle continuum corresponding to the RMF is replaced by a set of discrete positive energy states for the calculation of pairing energy provides...
متن کاملContinuum effects on the pairing in neutron drip-line nuclei studied with the canonical-basis HFB method
The canonical-basis HFB method provides an efficient way to describe pairing correlations involving the continuum part of the single-particle spectrum in coordinate-space representations. It can be applied to super-conducting deformed drip-line nuclei as easily as to stable or spherical nuclei. This method is applied to a simulation of the approach to the neutron drip line. It turns out that th...
